At the University of Naples, we have had the opportunity to appreciate (thanks to a virtuous Erasmus exchange - coordinated by Martina Bolom Kotari- as well as a BIC and other international-level activities) that the Department of Auxiliary Historical Sciences and Archival Studies is an excellence both for its fruitful collaborations and for the innovative research it carries out. It would be a pity if this broad vision, combined with disciplinary specificity and the cohesion of scientific interests, were lost in a broader organizational, administrative, and scientific dimension. I have co-worked with Ms Bolom-Kotari and Mr Kolda for several years. We have hosted them in Toruń, and I have visited the Department of Archives and Auxiliary Sciences of History in Hradec. Recently, together with students from Toruń, and colleagues from Trnava and Naples, I participated in an excellently organised Blended Intensive Programme, Erasmus+: Preservation, digitisation and access to material cultural heritage in Broumov. The last news from Hradec is worrying. I hope that the excellently organised centre for research and teaching in archival and auxiliary sciences will not lose its autonomy and that our cooperation will continue.Robert Degen (Toruń, 2024-11-25)
